The makers of Begum Jaan would not have thought that a Punjabi film will ruin their box office game in north India. Vidya Balen’s Begum Jaan was released on around 1100 screens yesterday. As expected, the movie is off to an average start. As per early estimates, As per official numbers shared by Taran Adarsh, Begum Jaan 1st day collection is 3.94 crores. These are average numbers considering that yesterday was a holiday in the most parts of the country.

The first day collection of Begum Jaan was seriously impacted by the incredible performance of Punjabi film Manje Bistre and Hollywood movie The Fate of the Furious. Released on only 200 screens in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi City, Manje Bistre has beaten Begum Jaan, Furious 8 in NCR region. It is expected to remain strong and put up a god first weekend total.
In international markets too, the movie earned 1.27 crores on the first day which is higher than most Bollywood movies released this year.
