These two months have been quite eventful for Bollywood as three movies have made it to the 100 crore club of Bollywood. Our predictions were spot on as Jolly LLB 2 had emerged as Akshay Kumar’s fourth consecutive 100 crores movie after Airlift, Rustom and Housefull 2. let’s have a detailed look at Bollywood box office report for the month of February 2017.
February 2017 was Akshay Kumar’s month as his only release was the first choice for the moviegoers throughout the month. It earned 110+ crores in 18 days and is still going super strong at the Box Office. It will become Akshay Kumar’s third 200 crore worldwide grosser after Airlift and Rustom. Vishal Bharadwaj’s Rangoon released on 24 Feb 2017 was another major release of the last month. The Box Office fate of the movie was sealed on the first day when it got a dismal opening of 6.07 crores. Rangoon has emerged as one of the biggest box office disasters of all time. It has earned around 18 crores in five days and will end up its box office journey will the collection of around 22 crores. The budget of the movie is around 80 crores. Rana Daggubati’s war film ‘The Ghazi Attack’ becomes the first sleeper hit of the year. The Hindi distribution rights of the movie were acquired by Karan Johar for around 15 crores. The war drama also starring Taapsee has so far earned 15.5 crores and emerged as Box Office hit. The other movies of the month, runningshaadi.com, Irada and Mona Darling failed to get all India release.
