Kaabil 1st Day Collection: Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam starrer Kaabil had an average opening at the domestic Box Office. As per early estimates, the movie earned around 8 crores on its opening day which is way below our expectations. Ideally, the movie should have earned 12 crores but that didn’t happen as Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees remained the first choice for the moviegoers.
Kaabil opened to 25% occupancy in the morning shows. It witnessed decent growth throughout the day but that wasn’t enough to post a respectable first day total. Kaabil’s first day collections are 6th highest for Hrithik after Bang Bang, Agneepath , Krrish 3, Kites and Mohen Jo Daro.
This is a poor start for the movie as the opening day collections are even less than Mohenjo Daro (8.85 crores) which was a big flop of 2016.
Raees has beaten Kaabil by a huge margin on the first day. The opening day collection difference between the two releases will be around 23 crores. This is a huge difference and much higher than last two big clashes, Rustom Vs Mohenjo Daro (6.36 crores) and Dilwale vs Bajirao Mastani (7.2 crores).
The only relief for Kaabil is that it has received superb reviews from critics. The WOM of the general moviegoers is also positive and we can expect the movie to show good growth in the coming days.
Kaabil is already a profitable film for its producers and needs to earn around 90 crores to be a safe bet for distributors.
