The expectations are huge considering the track record of Salman Khan movies released in the last five years. Salman Khan has emerged as the king of Indian box office due to super success of his movies released on Eid in last 8 years. While trade experts were expecting big opening from Tubelight, the movie is off to an average start at the box office. Tubelight has opened to average response in the morning shows on its first day. Let’s have a detailed look at Tubelight first day collection and occupancy report.

Tubelight First Day Box Office Collection

Tubelight First Day Occupancy Report

The movie got off to an average opening as it recorded around 40% occupancy in the morning shows. This is low start considering the opening day occupancy of Salman Khan’s previous years Eid releases. The movie witnessed decent growth in the noon and evening shows but that will not be enough to post a big opening day numbers.

The movie is expected to witness good growth in the night and late night shows. But it seems that the damage has already been done. The opening of the movie has been affected due to Ramadan and pre-Eid celebrations. But still, it is way below from what we have expected. Ideally, the movie should have recorded 70% occupancy on the first day.

Moreover, Tubelight has received negative to mixed reviews from critics. The negative WOM has started spreading and it seems that the movie will struggle after an extended weekend.

Tubelight First Day Collection: Early Estimates

As per early estimates, Tubelight first day collection will be in the range of 20 to 22 crores. It will be the highest opening day grosser of 2017 beating Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees. But it should be remembered that Raees was released on around 2600 screens and it also clashed with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil.

It would be interesting to see, how Tubelight performs in the coming days. The trade experts were expecting a 100 crores weekend from Tubelight but with this kind of start, it looks a tough task now.

Note: The official first day collection of Tubelight will be updated tomorrow at 11:00 am. Stay tuned.
